Phone backup before repair or upgrade
Confirm backup before you hand the phone to anyone — shop, friend, or tech.
- iPhone: Settings → [your name] → iCloud → check Photos/iCloud Backup status.
- Android: confirm Google backup / Photos backup is on and recently succeeded.
- Remove unused apps that spam notifications while you are there.
- Keep the OS updated when the phone is stable — not mid-crisis if storage is full.
When to book: Phone will not unlock, backup has never worked, or you need a careful handoff to a carrier store.
